BRONZE & NATURAL ROCK
This series of mermaids captured by men is a metaphor for how industrialisation and the embrace of modernity has separated us from folklore, tradition and innocence. Imagined as being bound and thrown on the deck of a fishing boat and against a rock, these mermaids will soon perish under the greed and destruction of the modern food industry.
Drawing inspiration from greek mythology, the artist created his own view on the sisyphean task, as a man damned by the gods is bound to push a rock toward the top of a mountain eternally!
The struggle and anguish of sisyphus is perfectly captured by this unique commission and is considered one of the artist’s favorite work.

Centaur
